TBAISD Mission


The Traverse Bay Area ISD has a dynamic and responsive relationship with our local school districts, the community and business partners that defines the scope of our work. Our mission is to Lead Lifetime Learning in ways that meet the unique needs of the Traverse Bay region. We work to accomplish this through strategic planning.

2018-19 TBAISD Strategic Planning

Phase I - Conduct Focus Groups

Randomly selected parents, students, staff, community members and local school district leaders were asked to participate in focus groups to gather perceptions, values, and aspirations. The results of the focus groups will assist in the development of a comprehensive survey tool.

Phase II - Survey Staff, Students, Parents and Community Members

A comprehensive survey will be developed and distributed in the spring of 2019. The anonymous survey will be tabulated, analyzed, and reported. The findings will help drive the district’s long-range plan.

Phase III - Data Drives Strategic Plan 

Phase I and II data, growth projections, student achievement data, school improvement plans, and historical information will be formally presented before the TBAISD Board of Education and administrative team. This data will drive the strategic plan which will be developed over the summer of 2019.
